Drone inspection in Romania for buildings and industry

We inspect roofs, facades, industrial halls, power lines and wind turbines with thermal and high-resolution cameras. You receive an annotated report with a ranked defect list within 5 working days.

  • Thermal and RGB images from the same flight
  • About half a day on site for a 10,000 m² roof
  • No scaffolding, lifts or work at height
  • EASA A1/A3 and A2 certified pilots
  • Radiometric DJI Mavic 3T thermal drone
  • PV thermal flights per IEC TS 62446-3 recommendations
  • Written quote within 24 h on working days

Defects found without scaffolding or lifts

A drone inspection records the condition of a building or structure from the air, with a thermal camera for heat and moisture and an RGB camera for visible damage. Facility managers, roofing contractors, industrial sites and energy companies receive an annotated PDF report and a georeferenced image set within 5 working days of the flight.

Thermal imaging shows temperature differences on a surface. On a flat roof, wet insulation holds heat longer than dry insulation. On a facade, a thermal bridge shows where heat leaves the building. On electrical equipment, a connector running hotter than its neighbors points to a fault.

Visual inspection uses the 56× zoom camera to read cracks, corrosion, loose fixings and blade erosion from a safe distance. Nobody climbs the structure, and the asset usually stays in service while we fly. Wind turbine blades are the exception: the operator stops the rotor for the duration of the flight.

A 10,000 m² roof takes about half a day on site. We work in all of Romania and check the airspace for every site before the flight. The report is written to be used: in a repair tender, a maintenance plan or an insurance file.

Who orders a drone inspection

  • Facility managers

Condition surveys of roofs and facades for maintenance plans and budgets.

  • Roofing contractors

Leak and moisture mapping before a repair quote, and proof of work after it.

  • Industrial sites

Halls, chimneys and tall structures inspected while production continues.

  • Energy companies

Power lines and substations checked for hot connectors and damaged insulators.

  • Wind farm operators

Visual records of blades and towers for maintenance planning.

  • Construction companies

Progress documentation and as-built records of structures at each stage.

Inspection from the air saves access, time and risk

  • No access equipment

No scaffolding, lifts or rope access to see a roof, a chimney or a tower, and no one working at height.

  • Thermal and visual together

One flight records heat patterns and visible damage, so each defect is documented both ways.

  • Defects you can find again

Every image is georeferenced, so the repair team locates the defect on site from its position.

  • Priorities, not just photos

The defect list ranks findings, so the repair budget goes to the urgent items first.

  • Comparable over time

Repeating the same flight plan gives images you can compare year on year, or before and after a repair.

  • A 3D model from the same flight

The same images can build a measurable 3D model of the structure through photogrammetry.

How a drone inspection runs

Five steps, each with a defined output, from your first message to the report.

  1. Brief

You describe the asset, the problem you suspect and the access conditions. A written quote follows within 24 h on working days.

  2. Planning

We choose thermal, visual or both, set the flight plan and check airspace and permissions for the site.

  3. Timing

Thermal work on buildings needs a temperature difference between inside and outside, so we fly in the heating season, early in the morning.

  4. Flight

We fly thermal and RGB, review the images on site and refly any gaps while the conditions still hold.

  5. Report

Defects are annotated, ranked and delivered in a PDF report within 5 working days.

What you receive

The report and the image set come with every inspection. The 3D model and the video are options.

  • Annotated PDF report

Thermal and visual images with every defect marked, described and ranked.

  • Defect list with priorities

Location, type and priority of each finding, ready to hand to a contractor.

  • Georeferenced image set

All original images with GPS position, for your records or a repair tender.

  • 3D model, optional

A measurable model of the roof or structure, built by photogrammetry from the same flight.

  • Video walkthrough, optional

A guided video of the asset for people who were not on site.

Assets we inspect

  • Roofs and membranes

Moisture under the membrane, insulation gaps, ponding, damaged flashing and drains.

  • Facades

Thermal bridges, missing insulation, detached render and cladding.

  • Industrial halls and chimneys

Roof sheets, gutters, skylights and stacks, usually inspected while production continues.

Questions about drone inspections

When is the best time for facade or roof thermography?

In the heating season, early in the morning, when the inside of the building is clearly warmer than the outside air and the sun has not yet warmed the surfaces. Without that temperature difference, defects do not show. Visual inspections have no such limit and can be flown all year in daylight.

What defects can a drone find on a roof?

Wet insulation under the membrane, insulation gaps, ponding water, blocked drains, damaged flashing, cracked or loose roof sheets and failed seams. Thermal shows the moisture and heat loss, the RGB camera shows the visible damage. A 10,000 m² roof takes about half a day on site.

Do you fly near power lines?

Yes, at a safe distance, using the 56× zoom and the thermal camera to spot hot connectors, clamps and damaged insulators. Each flight is planned with the network operator, and we check the airspace and any permission the route needs before the flight date is set.

Do you need permits for the flight?

We handle them. Our pilots hold EASA open category A1/A3 and A2 certificates, and we fly under Romanian AACR rules. We check the airspace for every site, and if it sits in a controlled or restricted zone, we request the authorization before scheduling.

What do I receive after the inspection?

An annotated PDF report with a ranked defect list and a georeferenced image set, within 5 working days of the flight. A 3D model of the structure and a video walkthrough are available as options, built from the same flight.

How long does a drone inspection take?

About half a day on site for a 10,000 m² roof, and the report follows within 5 working days. Large industrial sites and long line sections are planned per site, and the written quote states the number of days on site and the delivery date.

What does a drone inspection cost?

The price depends on the roof area or line length, the inspection type (thermal, visual or both), any airspace authorization and the travel distance. A 3D model or a video walkthrough is priced as an option. Send the address and a few details, and you receive a written quote within 24 h on working days.

How is a drone inspection different from scaffolding or a ground check?

A drone covers a 10,000 m² roof in about half a day, with no scaffolding, lifts or people working at height. A check from the ground or from scaffolding sees only the areas within reach and cannot show moisture under the membrane. The drone records a thermal image and an RGB photo of every area, so each defect is documented both ways.
